Mark A. Boyar, President of Boyar Asset Management, Inc. a Registered Investment Adviser has worked as a securities analyst since 1968. He began actively managing money in 1975 and formed Boyar Asset Management in 1983. In October 1987 a group headed by Mark A. Boyar acquired control of American Corporate Ltd., a closed end fund listed on the Sydney Stock Exchange, which was trading at a deep discount to its net asset value. Five years later he liquidated the fund at a premium to net asset value. In May 1998, Mr. Boyar launched his first mutual fund, The Boyar Value Fund (BOYAX). In addition, Mr. Boyar has published a monthly research report since 1975 entitled Asset Analysis Focus (AAF). This publication (which is currently published by Boyar’s Intrinsic Value Research LLC.) identifies and evaluates companies Mr. Boyar feels are intrinsically undervalued.
As a successful money manager and the publisher of AAF, Mr. Boyar is interviewed and quoted regularly in such publications as Barron’s, Business Week, Financial World, Forbes, Money Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The International Herald Tribune, and The New York Times. He has also appeared numerous times on the CNBC television network, and was a guest on Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser.
Boyar speaks frequently on the valuation of corporate assets as well as on stock selection. He has spoken at the Cleveland and Milwaukee Societies of Security Analysts, the Chase Exchange, the SIRE Club, the Ceil Walzer Memorial Lecture Series at The New School for Social Research, The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Inc., Annual Investment Conference, and The New York Bankers Association among others. He also taught a course on mergers and acquisitions at The New School for Social Research.
Before coming to Wall Street, Mr. Boyar was employed on the audit staff of Price-Waterhouse. He earned a B.S. degree from C.W. Post College of Long Island University in June 1968, and attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. Since 1970, he has been a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Federation of Financial Analysts.
Mark Boyar is a Trustee of Long Island University, was formerly Chairman of its Investment Committee and currently sits on that Committee, which has sole responsibility for selecting investment advisors that manage the University’s Endowment.

After graduating from Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management, Jonathan started his investment career at GAMCO Investors. He then joined Boyar where he established Boyar’s Alternative Viewpoint which was a research product specifically designed for the $1.4 billion Global Analyst Research Settlement. This award winning research product was purchased by major banks such as Deutsche Bank, Bear Stearns, Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.
In 2004 Jonathan received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship from Cardozo School of Law. After graduating from law school he worked as a litigator at the nationally recognized medical malpractice defense law firm of Martin Clearwater & Bell.
Jonathan is currently President of Boyar’s Intrinsic Value Research LLC., an independent research boutique established in 1975 that counts some of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, mutual funds and family offices as subscribers. He is also a Principal of Boyar Asset Management, which has been managing money utilizing a value oriented strategy since 1983.
Jonathan has been interviewed by Barron’s, Welling on Wall Street and GuruFocus. He spoke at the 2017 London Value Investor Conference, the 2017 GuruFocus Value Conference and the 2017 International Value Investing Conference. He is also a contributor to the latest edition of Harriman’s Book of Investing Rules: The Do’s & Don’ts of the World’s Best Investors. He is a senior contributor to Forbes as well as the host of The World According to Boyar podcast. He also serves on the advisory board for Investopedia.com.

Prior to joining Boyar, he was an analyst at Value Line where he covered equities in multiple industries as well as co-managed a premium subscription value-oriented dividend income and growth portfolio. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Hartford.
Drew Flowers
Drew Flowers has more than 7 years of investment experience, and joined Boyar in 2022. Previously, he covered global equities and was a portfolio manager at a boutique asset management firm based in Melbourne, Australia, and an investment consultancy he founded, Cernemos Capital. Drew earned a BS in Engineering and a BA in Business from RMIT University and a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne.

Joe Mareci

With over 26 years of investment experience, Joe joined Boyar in early 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Joe was a Vice President at Walnut Asset Management where he led the firm’s equity research capabilities, served on the investment policy committee, and managed several institutional insurance portfolios. Previously, Joe was an analyst at IAS, an institutional investment consulting firm specializing in the insurance industry. Joe is a past member of the Philadelphia Securities Association, where he held several roles including a member of the group’s Board of Governors. Joe received a BS in Finance from Penn State University and is a CFA charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute (formerly AIMR).

With over 40 years of investment experience, Mr. Jensen rejoined Boyar Value Group in 2020 after having previously worked for the Firm. Prior to rejoining Boyar, Mr. Jensen was Chief Investment Officer for Elevage Partners, LLC. Previously, Mr. Jensen was Co-Chief Investment Officer with Strategy Asset Managers, LLC as well as an Investment Advisor Representative with Holly Street Wealth. Mr. Jensen has an extensive background in both the research and management of global equity and fixed income securities. Mr. Jensen began his career in public accounting specializing in financial services companies with Ernst & Young. Mr. Jensen holds a BS in Accounting from Boston University and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
